Virtual Thursday Night Series - Dec

We are excited to announce another set of Virtual Regattas on Thursday nights, leading up to Christmas.

Due to the extension of the Public Health Mandates, we decided that having a virtual community activity would be a great way to pass the time until we can gather in person again. All KYC members are eligible to compete, and it is free to enter. All that you have to do to be eligible for competition is go onto the KYC website, and "register" before 7pm on the night before the races, which will be Wednesdays. 

The dates are: THIS Thursday, the 10th of December, the 17th of December and the 24th of December

The time is: 7pm - 9pm (or whenever we get 5 races off)

The place is: The comfort of your own home, using a free video chat app called Discord, and a free app called Virtual Regatta Inshore. It is downloadable on both phones and tablets. 

Step 1: Virtual Thursday Night Series - Dec - 12/10/2020 Make sure you register the night before on KYC website.

Step 2:Create a Discord Log-in  (See photo below) We will then email you a link on the day of the races which you will click to join the video chat. Once you have a discord account, the link will bring you automatically to the video chat.
Step 3: Download Virtual Regatta (Google).   OR Download Virtual Regatta (apple)   

Step 4: Click on the link that we email to you on the day of the event, to join the video chat.


Brendan Trainor, son of our Vice Commodore (Christine) in charge of sail training, a laser sailor on our race team and our favourite jr volunteer has done an amazing job writing up extremely detailed instructions on how to play. He will also, along with the Trainor family, be running the races. Huge thanks to Brendan, Christine, and Brian for all their amazing effort to make this happen!

We are looking forward to seeing some of you there!
Please put aside about half an hour before the start of the first night of racing, to ensure that you have everything downloaded and up and running before the start of the races. Don't hesitate to reach out of you require assistance to participate.
