Earn High School Credits for Sailing with BC’s ESCP
Do what you love and earn graduation credits while you’re at it! Through BC’s External Sport Credentials Program (ESCP), student-athletes can receive high school credits for approved levels of competition, coaching, and officiatingwith BC Sailing. If you are a youth participant and race with KYC, help run events, or are completing instructor/coach training, you may be eligible!

Athlete (UXSA) — 4 credits each level
Level 1 – UXSA 10 (4 credits)
• Regional Select Team and BC Regional Events (e.g., Pumpkin Bowl, Spring Dinghies, WAVES, etc.); BC Summer Games Team
Level 2 – UXSA 11 (4 credits)
• BC Team Development Squad
• Sail West
• Canadian Youth Championships
• Class Midwinter Championships
• Class Canadian or North American Championships
Level 3 – USXA 12 (4 credits)
• Canada Summer Games Team BC
• World Sailing Youth World Championship
• Class-specific Open World Junior Championships
• Sport Canada carded AAP (National Team)
Officials (UXSO)
Level 1 – UXSO 10 (2 credits)
• Race Management 1
Level 2 – UXSO 11 (4 credits)
• Race Management 2
Level 3 – UXSO 12 (4 credits)
• Judge Level 1 White
Coaches (NCCP Pathway)
Coach Level 1 – Sport-Specific NCCP Community Sport or Instruction–Beginner (Trained):
• CANSail Fundamental Clinic AND
• CANSail 1 & 2 Instructor
• CANSail 3 & 4 Instructor
• NCCP Make Ethical Decisions (online evaluation)
Coach Level 2 – Competition Introduction (Sport Technical):
• CANSail 5 & 6 Instructor
